Vesting is a pivotal point in the LTI lifecycle: compensation becomes personal wealth. But what leads up to that point and what happens afterwards?

Our new study examines how listed companies across Germany, Switzerland and Austria design LTIs, from award structures and performance conditions to different approaches to vesting.

We will use the findings as a starting point for a broader discussion on LTI design across DACH. Drawing on Optio's experience, we will then look beyond vesting: what happens once awards vest, how executives approach their resulting share ownership, and what this could mean for LTI design and governance.
